A.L.H.T.I.S.

A.L.H.T.I.S. is the name I gave to the System I started building around Ableton Live more than two years ago now.

The philosophy here is to make a system so versatile and efficient that it can be simultaneously used to either play Live in total improvisation or to produce ideas for tracks (in my style) at incredible speed and avoid what we all know as producers, losing the flow.

To achieve this I have had to understand Live in its deepest core knowing what can be done and not, where and when, and how to break certain limitations.

And so to break free of what Live doesn’t allow you to do, I rely on a multitude of workarounds, remote scripts, and integration with third-party apps and gear such as SPAT Revolution, TouchOSC, Max MSP (or maxforlive) even so far as to run some synths locally as standalone apps instead of plugins inside Live for some very specific features.

With that said I never stop working on it and adding new things, tweaking others, making things more efficient CPU-wise, more fluid to play, etc…

The current version is the result of more than two years of built-up on top of the same session. I have started a revision in parallel that is on the drawing board phase with every single integration thought at the root before adding any sound into the system.
