This is my music journey!

Son of a musician and sound engineer, I was brought into the world of music very early in my childhood. The story goes that my dad bought me a Stratocaster at the age of four, and as you can probably imagine, the guitar was bigger than me at the time.

As the years went by, I naturally picked it up and started playing and taking lessons. Music was the main red thread of my teenage years, from U2 and Green Day to Guns N' Roses and Soundgarden.

General schooling always felt wrong to me, so one day I just stopped and went to a music school in Paris and then Tours. During my studies, I became more of a modern/fusion guitar player, drawn to a more jazz/rock subgenre and getting inspired by artists such as John Scofield, Mike Stern, Victor Wooten, and Kurt Rosenwinkel.

At this point, four years had passed, and then COVID hit the world.

COVID brought one good thing to me—it kickstarted a series of events that led me to the music I create today.

Now stuck at home, my only option was to turn to making music on my own, and I started diving deeper into Ableton Live, which I already had some knowledge of from a few classes during my studies.

At the same time, I was missioned by FLUX:: as a freelancer to help them manage their tech support. A few months passed like this, and it eventually became a stable contract.

Working from home more and more pushed me further into electronic music. But the few Ableton Live projects I had at the time were still heavily influenced by my jazz background. Looking back, I realize this was a stylistic limbo phase for me.

The nature of remote work and the ongoing COVID restrictions created a lot frustration in me. And one day, when some of those restrictions were lifted, I decided to travel. Not being tied to an office made that incredibly easy.

I don’t know why—maybe the guiding hand of some invisible force—but my finger landed on one destination: South Korea. I spent weeks/months preparing for the trip.

And then, there I was.

One month in, I met the one person who was going to change everything. That same day, she took me to the most vivid space I had ever experienced—or at least, it felt that way to me. The music being played there, spiritual yet still danceable—the power and quality of the sound system, the intimate and dark but friendly atmosphere.

This place’s name is vurt., and just like that I was changed.

I instantly knew—it felt like a revelation: This is the music I want to make.

After that, I went back many, many times. From 11 PM to 6 AM, two nights a week in a row, trying to let myself go, trying to understand and absorb this music I could never have guessed existed before.

A few months later, I returned to France. Dropping my bags, I had only one objective: to grow as a producer, DJ, and live performer—to create the same music that had opened my eyes to an endless world of possibilities.

Since then, I have had a few independent releases and have been featured on various VA compilations, including the incredible releases by the AEDI community, which I joined in April 2023. I couldn't be happier, as a lot more is coming!

My approach to electronic music has always been shaped by my background as a musician, so improvisation is a big part of it. I strive to build the most versatile live system possible—one that allows me not only to perform fully improvised live sets but also to generate ideas at record speed for actual productions.
